Read it before you use the service. **Version 1.0. Effective date: 18 August 2026.** These terms are a contract between you and us. Read them with the [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy-policy). ## 1. The agreement These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lala. Lala is an artificial intelligence study companion for students who prepare for the Turkish YKS and LGS examinations. "You" means the person who uses Lala. "Service" means the Lala mobile application, the Lala API, and every related feature. When you create an account or use the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service. ## 2. Definitions | Term | Meaning | | ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Account | The record that identifies you in the Service. | | Content | Every message, photograph, file, examination result, plan entry, and voice input that you send to the Service. | | Output | Every text, reply, reminder, and voice answer that Lala generates. | | Credits | Prepaid units that let you use a feature that has a usage cost. | | Subscription | A recurring paid plan that gives access to paid features. | | Store | The Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. | ## 3. Who can use Lala 3.1 You must be 13 years old or older. 3.2 If you are under 18, a parent or a legal guardian must read these Terms and must accept them for you. By using the Service, you confirm that your parent or your guardian did so. Your parent or your guardian is responsible for your use of the Service. 3.3 You must give correct information when you create an Account. Keep this information current. 3.4 You must not use the Service if a law or a sanction prohibits it. ## 4. Your account 4.1 You sign in with a one-time code that we send to your telephone number, or with your Google account. 4.2 You are responsible for the security of your device and your sign-in method. Tell us at [destek@lala.ist](mailto:destek@lala.ist) if you believe that another person uses your Account. 4.3 One person, one Account. Do not share your Account, and do not transfer it. ## 5. What Lala is, and what Lala is not 5.1 Lala is a study companion. It gives study guidance, it keeps a study plan, it records practice examination results, and it answers questions in Turkish. 5.2 **Lala is not a teacher, a school, a private course, or a certified counselor.** The Service is not formal education. It does not give a diploma, a certificate, or an accredited qualification. 5.3 **Lala is not a medical, psychological, or legal adviser.** Output is not medical advice, psychological therapy, or legal advice. If you need such help, speak to a qualified professional. 5.4 **We do not guarantee an examination result.** No examination score, ranking, university placement, or academic outcome comes with the Service. 5.5 If you are in danger or in a mental health emergency, contact the emergency services. In Türkiye, call **112**. Do not rely on Lala in an emergency. ## 6. Artificial intelligence output 6.1 Lala generates Output with a large language model. A language model can produce an answer that is wrong, incomplete, or out of date. 6.2 Check every important fact against an official source. Official sources include ÖSYM for examination rules and dates, and YÖK Atlas for university quota and ranking data. 6.3 You are responsible for what you do with the Output. We are not responsible for a decision that you take because of the Output. 6.4 The same question can produce a different answer at a different time. Output is not deterministic. 6.5 Do not use the Service to cheat in an examination, in homework, or in any assessment where the rules prohibit help. Your school or your examination body decides what counts as cheating. ## 7. Your content 7.1 You keep every right that you hold in your Content. 7.2 You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, process, and adapt your Content. This licence exists only to operate and to improve the Service. It ends when we delete your Content. For a model that we already trained, the licence continues, because a trained model does not hold the original Content. 7.3 You confirm that you have the right to send your Content, and that the Content does not infringe a right of another person. 7.4 We can use your Content to develop, to measure, and to fine-tune our artificial intelligence models and prompts. This use includes the models that run Lala, and it can include a general-purpose model that we develop for another product or another purpose. We remove or replace direct identifiers before the Content enters a training or an evaluation set. We do not sell a dataset that contains your Content, and we do not license one to another company. Our model providers may not use your Content to train their own models, under our contracts with them. 7.5 You can object to this use at any time. Section 5.1 of the [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy-policy) explains what happens when you object. 7.6 We can read Content when we investigate a breach of these Terms, when a law requires it, or when we must protect a person from harm. ## 8. Acceptable use You must not do the following: 1. Break a law, or help another person break a law. 2. Send content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, obscene, or violent. 3. Send content that sexualizes a child, or that harms a child in any way. 4. Impersonate another person, or claim a false identity. 5. Send another person's personal data without their permission. 6. Try to get the Service to produce harmful or prohibited content. 7. Attack, overload, or disturb the Service or its infrastructure. 8. Use an automated tool to access the Service, unless we give written permission. 9. Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service or its underlying models. 10. Resell the Service, or give access to it to another person. 11. Extract data from the Service to build a competing product. If you breach this section, we can suspend or close your Account under section 13. ## 9. Free tier, subscriptions, and credits 9.1 The Service has a free tier. The free tier has usage limits. We can change these limits, and we tell you in the application when we do. 9.2 A Subscription gives access to paid features for a fixed period. A Subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price that the Store shows, until you cancel it. 9.3 Credits are prepaid units for pay-as-you-go use. Credits have no cash value. We do not exchange Credits for money. Credits are not transferable. 9.4 You buy a Subscription and Credits through the Store. The Store takes the payment. We never see your card number or your bank details. 9.5 The Store rules also apply to the purchase. Read the Apple Media Services Terms or the Google Play Terms of Service. ## 10. Cancellation, refunds, and price changes 10.1 Cancel a Subscription in your Store account settings, at any time. The cancellation starts at the end of the current paid period. You keep access until that date. 10.2 The Store handles a refund request, under the Store's own refund policy. We cannot issue a refund for a Store purchase ourselves. Ask the Store first. Write to [destek@lala.ist](mailto:destek@lala.ist) if the Store sends you back to us. 10.3 **Right of withdrawal.** Under the Turkish Distance Contracts Regulation, and under EU consumer law, a consumer normally has 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. This right does not apply to digital content that we deliver immediately, when you consent to immediate delivery and accept that the right ends. You give this consent when you buy a Subscription or Credits and start to use them. 10.4 We can change a price. We tell you at least 30 days before a price change starts. The new price applies from your next renewal. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before the renewal date. 10.5 If we close your Account because you breached these Terms, we do not refund the remaining period of a Subscription or unused Credits. ## 11. Our intellectual property 11.1 We own the Service, the Lala name, the Lala logo, the application, the system prompts, and the reference study collection. Copyright, trademark, and other laws protect them. 11.2 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own study. You get no other right. 11.3 You may use the Output for your own study. Do not present the Output as work that you produced yourself where the rules prohibit it. ## 12. Availability and changes 12.1 We try to keep the Service available, but we do not promise that it is available without interruption. Maintenance, a fault, or a third-party failure can stop the Service. 12.2 We can add, change, or remove a feature. When a change materially reduces a paid feature, we tell you at least 30 days before it starts, and you can cancel. 12.3 The Service depends on third-party providers, such as model providers and cloud hosts. A failure at a provider can degrade or stop a feature. ## 13. Suspension and termination 13.1 You can stop at any time. Ask us to delete your Account by writing to [destek@lala.ist](mailto:destek@lala.ist). We delete your personal data within 30 days, as the [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy-policy) states. 13.2 We can suspend or close your Account if you breach these Terms, if you put another user at risk, or if a law requires it. Except in an urgent case, we tell you first and we give you a chance to correct the breach. 13.3 We can stop the Service completely. We give at least 30 days notice, and we refund the unused part of a paid Subscription. 13.4 Sections 7.2, 7.4, 11, 14, 15, 17, and 18 continue after the agreement ends. ## 14. Disclaimer of warranties 14.1 We provide the Service "as is" and "as available". 14.2 To the extent that the law permits, we make no warranty that the Service is uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we make no warranty that the Output is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. 14.3 This section does not limit a right that Turkish consumer law or EU consumer law gives you and that a contract cannot remove. ## 15. Limitation of liability 15.1 To the extent that the law permits, we are not liable for indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of an academic or examination opportunity. 15.2 Our total liability for every claim in a 12-month period is limited to the amount that you paid us in that period, or to 1,000 Turkish lira, whichever is more. 15.3 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that the law does not permit us to limit. ## 16. Third-party services The Service connects to third-party services, such as the Store, our model providers, and the public YÖK Atlas data service. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for them. Their own terms apply to your use of them. ## 17. Changes to these Terms We can change these Terms. When we make a material change, we tell you in the application or by e-mail at least 15 days before the change starts. If you do not accept the change, stop using the Service and close your Account before the change starts. Continued use after that date means that you accept the new Terms. ## 18. Governing law and disputes 18.1 Turkish law governs these Terms. 18.2 If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you can apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or to the Consumer Court (Tüketici Mahkemesi) in the place where you live, or in the place where the transaction happened. The monetary limits that the Ministry of Trade publishes each year decide which one applies. 18.3 If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. 18.4 For every other dispute, the courts and the enforcement offices of Ankara have jurisdiction. ## 19. General 19.1 These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and us for the Service. 19.2 If a court finds one clause invalid, the other clauses stay in force. 19.3 If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not lose that right. 19.4 You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We can transfer ours to a company that takes over the business, and we tell you when we do. 19.5 We publish these Terms in English and in [Turkish](/legal/kullanim-kosullari). If the two versions conflict, the Turkish version governs for a consumer in Türkiye. ## 20.
